Bot-network fraud hits Creator Revenue Sharing payouts, X sues

HomeMarketsBot-network fraud hits Creator Revenue Sharing payouts, X sues

-

X sued Bitcoin influencers over a bot network that manipulated Creator Revenue Sharing payouts. The suit was filed in the United Kingdom High Court on September 17, 2026, naming Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and others. X alleges the defendants ran six interconnected accounts to fake engagement on Bitcoin-related content and fraudulently claim Creator Revenue Sharing payouts, and that the program operated from July 2023 until it was shut down on September 7, 2026.

X’s complaint alleges the defendants operated six accounts as a single coordinated network to fake engagement metrics and unlock Creator Revenue Sharing payouts. The six accounts enrolled in the Creator Revenue Sharing program between 2023 and 2026 and then cross-posted identical content and liked each other’s tweets to create the appearance of an engaged audience. Other tactics included copying posts and replies between the accounts, and on October 10, 2025 two accounts posted the same line, “Like, if you are not selling #Bitcoin,” alongside the same chart two minutes apart. Creator Revenue Sharing paid a cut of ad revenue based on engagement such as likes, replies, and reposts, and required an X Premium subscription, five million impressions over three months, and 500 verified followers to qualify.

Payouts required a linked Stripe account, and X’s investigation identified Stripe account names that did not match the posting accounts. One account’s Stripe profile listed the name “Stefan Mann” while the linked bank account and email traced back to Vivek Kumar Sen. The complaint alleges the defendants used multiple bank accounts to hide their scheme and that Sen attempted to recruit other high-follower accounts to expand the operation. X suspended nine accounts on August 18 as part of its enforcement actions.

X suspended nine accounts on August 18. X’s Authenticity Policy states it does not allow any activity that manipulates the platform through inauthentic accounts, behaviors or content. The United Kingdom High Court complaint filed September 17 names Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and other unidentified persons and accuses UK users of running six coordinated accounts to pull at least $278,000 from Creator Revenue Sharing. Creator Revenue Sharing was launched by Elon Musk in 2023 and ran from July 2023 until it shut down on September 7, 2026.

James Burnham confirmed the filing in a post that stated: “Last week, X sued several people who abused Creator Revenue Sharing by operating a coordinated network of accounts, posting inauthentic content to manipulate engagement, and using multiple bank accounts to hide their scheme.” The complaint alleges the defendants posted identical content, cross-posted and copied replies between accounts, and used multiple bank accounts and Stripe payout links to receive payouts. The complaint notes Stripe account names did not match posting accounts and identifies a Stripe profile listing “Stefan Mann” while the linked bank account and email traced back to Vivek Kumar Sen. Last year X sued a bribery network tied to banned crypto-scam accounts.

The post also included the statement: “We do not tolerate fraudulent behavior on X—and will act forcefully to protect our platform and the earnings of genuine creators.”

The filing, the quoted statements, and the account suspensions are described in X’s legal and enforcement actions as presented in the complaint and related posts.
