Whisper Web3 Super-App: Introduction and Overview
Whisper Web3 Super-App has over 1.38 million downloads and is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play as Whisper MSG. The app provides end-to-end encrypted messaging using private keys, a multi-chain wallet supporting more than 10 blockchains and over 100 assets, and instant token swaps compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It also offers a project alerts/news feed, a curated store for DeFi, GameFi, SocialFi, and NFT dApps, and requires users to register with a unique address instead of a phone number or email.
The Whisper Web3 Super-App blockchain technology is powered by EQBR’s Equilibrium blockchain engine and is covered by US Patent No. 12,586,064 B2 granted to EQBR Holdings in March 2026. It uses a micro-chain architecture with a non-competitive consensus method that allows separate services to run independently, isolating workloads by service and reducing interdependence. The design emphasizes modularity and service separation while enabling on-chain operations to proceed without a single chain-wide consensus bottleneck. EQBR’s engine underpins the micro-chains and coordinates independent service execution.
Performance testing reported confirmation times of three seconds and throughput of up to 4,500 transactions per second (TPS) on a single micro-chain. EQBR demonstrated real-time on-chain peer-to-peer payments at the Jeju Food & Wine Festival from 2023 to 2025 in Jeju Island in partnership with Jeju Bank at over 200 restaurants. The technology was also demonstrated on a Raspberry Pi to show low-power hardware operability.
Whisper will host a keynote at 4:40 p.m. on September 30 at Grand Walkerhill during Korea Blockchain Week, from September 29 to October 1 in Seoul. This keynote will unveil new ecosystem plans for the Whisper Web3 Super-App. Paulus J. Lee shared that “most people don’t want to learn about blockchain. They want to message a friend, pay a merchant, and swap a token in one place, quickly and securely.” He added, “we built Whisper so those everyday actions work smoothly on-chain, without the user having to think about the chain.” At the event, he will reveal “a new ecosystem built around the app.”
