Bitcoin is on track to finish the second quarter down about 12% after suffering a roughly 22% decline in the first quarter. Those consecutive quarterly declines mark two straight losing quarters to open the year for the asset. The reported quarterly figures indicate that Bitcoin posted losses in both Q1 and Q2.
Ether declined about 25% in the second quarter following a roughly 29% drop in the first quarter, creating a comparable two-quarter losing streak for the token. As with Bitcoin, Ether’s sequential quarterly declines mean it has recorded two straight losing quarters to open the year. These quarterly results place both assets among cryptocurrencies that have fallen across the first half’s two main reporting periods. Both Bitcoin and Ether have therefore recorded back-to-back quarterly losses to begin the year.
