U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $606.29 million in inflows on Thursday, the largest single-day haul for the category so far in August. That exceeded Wednesday’s $517.19 million and brought total August inflows to about $2.07 billion, making August the strongest month of 2026 to date. The Thursday inflow established a new daily high for the month and helped elevate the month-to-date total above prior monthly levels.
On Thursday, several U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced significant cash movements. BlackRock’s IBIT led with a substantial inflow of $502.99 million, representing a large portion of the day’s total inflows in the category. Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $64.74 million, while Bitwise’s BITB recorded an inflow of $26.4 million. Additionally, the Ark/21Shares’ ARKB saw an increase of $12.2 million. In comparison, Ethereum ETFs saw almost $221 million in their largest single-day intake since October 2025.

The Hashdex DEFI Bitcoin ETF marked its last trading day on August 17, becoming notable as the first U.S. spot Bitcoin fund to be liquidated. This ETF charged a management fee of 0.25%, identical to the larger BlackRock’s IBIT. However, it managed considerably fewer assets, holding just $14.7 million in comparison to IBIT’s $47 billion under management. Consequently, the Hashdex fund’s annual fees were estimated to be around $26,000. This liquidation event underscores significant contrasts in asset scale and investor interest across different Bitcoin ETFs.
