Headline: Strategy raises $334M, boosts USD reserve, leaves BTC holdings unchanged

Strategy successfully raised approximately $334 million through the sale of 3.46 million shares of its common stock. The company raised $333.7 million precisely from these transactions. Currently, Strategy maintains its Bitcoin holdings at 840,447 BTC, with no changes to its reserve reported as of August 16. Each Bitcoin was acquired at an average price of $75,385, bringing the total cost of these holdings to $63.36 billion. Despite the recent capital infusion, Strategy has not adjusted its Bitcoin position. This move ensures sustained USD liquidity while keeping its commitment to long-term Bitcoin investments.

Strategy has strategically allocated the $333.7 million raised from its recent capital action. A substantial portion, totaling $132.2 million, was utilized to repurchase 1,388,720 shares of STRC, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its share buyback program. In addition, $52.4 million was earmarked for STRC dividends, ensuring a return to shareholders and maintaining investor confidence. To further bolster its financial flexibility, approximately $150 million was added to the company’s USD reserve. This addition increased the USD reserve to a significant $4.80 billion, with a reserve duration maintained at 2.8 years. These allocations reflect Strategy’s aim to balance shareholder value and financial stability by channeling funds into strategic areas while preserving liquidity for future opportunities.

Under its repurchase programs, $653 million remains available for STRC repurchases and $1 billion remains available under the MSTR common-stock repurchase program, amounts that remain on the company’s authorized repurchase schedules. Separately, the company’s capital framework permits up to $1.25 billion of Bitcoin sales. About $429 million of that allowance has been used to date, leaving approximately $820 million available under the cap. None of that remaining allowance was drawn last week.

Since May, the company sold 6,948 BTC for about $432.5 million. Last week’s sale of 1,690 BTC raised $108.6 million, and those proceeds were used to fund STRC buybacks. The company has not bought Bitcoin since June. The firm’s BTC holdings are worth about $53.4 billion and cost about $63.36 billion, a shortfall of roughly $9.9 billion based on the reported figures.

Strategy completed a recent capital raise and allocated the proceeds across stock repurchases, preferred-stock dividends and additions to its USD reserve, while continuing to operate its authorized repurchase programs and ongoing buyback activities. The company maintained its Bitcoin reserve position unchanged and continues to manage a capital framework that permits selective Bitcoin sales alongside liquidity management to support dividends and repurchases.
