SpaceX reported Q2 revenue of $7.8 billion during the second quarter, beating Wall Street expectations of $6.9 billion and disclosing a decline in the value of its bitcoin holdings. The company said the net loss narrowed to $541 million from $1.0 billion a year earlier, and reported adjusted EBITDA of $3.5 billion for the quarter, nearly triple the prior-year level.
SpaceX disclosed holding 18,712 bitcoin (BTC) as of June 30, reporting that quantity of digital assets in its quarterly disclosure. The company reported those holdings were valued at $1.10 billion on June 30, down from $1.64 billion at the end of 2025, representing a $540 million decline in valuation. The company reported that bitcoin’s price fell by 33% during the period covered, a change that corresponded with the reduction in the reported dollar value of the holdings. The bitcoin figures were disclosed alongside the company’s quarterly financial results, which included revenue, net loss and adjusted EBITDA metrics for the quarter and related disclosures.
SpaceX’s IPO was valued at $86 billion, marking a significant milestone for the company. An important upcoming event is the insider share unlock set for August 6, where approximately 912 million shares held by employees and early backers will become eligible for sale. This unlock could potentially increase the public float of SpaceX shares, affecting the market dynamics.
The company’s stock, SPCX, experienced notable movements in the market. After the announcement, the stock’s price dropped 6% in after-hours trading, falling to $118. However, during the regular trading session, it closed nearly 10% higher. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100, an important index of the top technology companies, recorded a gain of 3.3% in the same timeframe, reflecting broader sectoral strength amid mixed signals on individual stocks.
SpaceX delivered a strong quarterly performance, with revenue exceeding analyst forecasts and adjusted EBITDA recording substantial year-over-year growth, driven by gains across its businesses. The company also disclosed a decline in its bitcoin holdings’ valuation and faces an upcoming insider share unlock that could increase the public float and influence near-term market trading as investors assess earnings and asset disclosures.
